Environments

I love environments. I hate to paint them. They never turn out how I want. Definitely need more practice. So far so good though!

Yup.

Dragon sketches are always awesome.

Rawr!

Trying to make a growly wolf! Might go farther so I can practice a fur tutorial. Inspired by this talented lady! Sadly I've been inspired by a lot of furry art lately...

Big Stretch

Yet another incarnation of my signature critter! This time he is too cute to be scary. Originally just a simple sketch but I took it much farther than intended. A quick color and voila! A stretching growly critter!

Rough Demonic Horse

Pretty sure this horse would trample you if you tried to hop on!

Proportions be damned, imma stomp you!

Swoosh!

Flying himalayan kitty!

Still working out the legs and perhaps the left wing... pleased with it so far! :)

Bored...

Bored and trying to make a shiny apple.

Not quite Caravaggio enough.

Might be tasty.

Soul Well Update

Well, that's enough for today.

As much as I wanted to have a nifty blue fog coming from the maw, I'm just not sure it's going to work. Right now it just looks like he's barfing into the soul well (lol?) when really the blue energy is supposed to be blasting sky high and simply lighting his demonic face.

Not really a way to make it clear Caelum is kneeling with his sword in front of him, but that's what he's doing if anyone is wondering.

"You once said that you are the sculptor that will shape this world
and I am the tool that will bring about your desire. Is that not what I am? Upholder of your peace and prosperity? Shepherd to the straying lambs? Slayer of those who would cross your Order? Your origins do not sway me, master. I know only this lifeof servitude. It is my identity."

The Soul Well

I've had this image in my head for a while now so I quickly sketched it the other day. I am hoping to turn it into something highly detailed. I think the monochromatic color scheme will make it easier to apply the lighting effects. I consider this a short refresher for the application of light and shadow. Yay!

I thought to include the first writings of Enjeru and his Soul Well but this little short is all I could find on it. There is another scene where I am sure I describe it a bit more but damned if I could find it for this blog post. Sadly you'll have to contend with Enjeru's first introduction which surprises me it's not more badass. You'd think meeting the almighty growly guy for the first time would be a bit more frightening!

"The high Lord Enjeru coiled about the remnants of the shattered crystal like some wicked serpent from ages long past. With each soul sacrificed in his name he grew in power and with enough souls he would be able to rise from this penance of sleep and descend upon the land as a true god. And when that happened he would take up his faithful children and crush his evil twin into oblivion.

In the meantime however he wallowed in the comfort of the tower's highest spire and fed off the killings of his most beloved of servants. Very soon Enjeru would have need of Caelum once more. It was just a matter of opportunity."
